‘ECHO’ is the final single to be released off Julie Cooper’s album ‘OCULUS’ produced by Jonathan Allen, a setting of the poem ‘Echo’ by Christina Rossetti (published in 1862) where the word ‘echo’ is never mentioned but refers back to the memory of a lost love. A duet inspired by the extraordinary vocal talents of the Internationally acclaimed soprano Grace Davidson and viral Tik Tok close-harmony singer/actor/writer Anna Hale, fusing classical with contemporary.
Featuring the ‘Her Ensemble’ led by Ellie Consta, Camilla Pay on harp and Julie Cooper on piano, with the Oculus Ensemble strings led by Clio Gould and conducted by Jessica Cottis.
‘Echo’ was filmed along the Lewis River in the Gifford Pinchot Nat’l Forest near Mount St Helens, Washington State, USA by Landscape Cinematographer Stephen Proctor – Stephen creatively combined the aerial footage with the recording sessions which were filmed by Alexander Barnes at Masterchord Studio in London.
The result is an incredibly atmospheric, hauntingly beautiful visual which helps tell the story of the Christina Rossetti poem with the music.
